A city council meeting in Cushing, Oklahoma may seem like an odd place for a Jeff Goldblum quote, but the line delivered by Candice Dunn left those in attendance silent.

“We were so focused on if we could, that we didn’t stop to think if we should.”

The Jurassic Park quote was in reference to the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline that would use 3,163 miles of pipe to deliver around 600,000 gallons of Keystone Light per day from Canada to Texas.

“It’s not only that the beer is awful – which it is – it’s a question of if anyone should be drinking something traveling thousands of miles in an enormous rusty pipe,” Candice continued after the crowd had fully recovered from her well-timed movie reference.

Others voiced concerns about the demand for that much Keystone Light given the rate fraternities are being disbanded.

So far there’s been no word on how Canada plans to dispose of the beer if they can’t flush it south.
